Jocelyn’s work is awe-inspiring in this project, as well as all of the work she submitted. It is the work of a well-rounded and versatile designer with an excellent eye for aesthetics and simplicity. In this project, in particular, her decisions around typography, color, layout, and illustration style perfectly embody the discipline of architecture—a reflection of her graphic maturity and creative skills. What makes her entry even more special is the capacity of each poster to stand out as both a single piece and a collection without losing cohesiveness.

Avery’s “Florida Man Poems Zines” are both objects of desire. Her capacity to dismantle the alligator into pieces to obtain more assets to play around with is the kind of mastery you want in a designer. A duotone color palette, unexpected and raw typography, and the photography treatment considerably keep things simple and elevate the poems.

The branding projects entered this year were all of high standard, making it significantly harder to pick a winner. Dave’s project stood out because of the boldness of the proposal and how he reinterpreted Arca’s visual universe to create an expressive, chaotic, yet somewhat well-structured graphic identity system.
