Jorge Lamora

For over 20 years, Jorge has been creating powerful brand experiences with a strict sense of craftsmanship.

Jorge started drinking Café Cubanos at the age of three in his hometown of Miami. Where caffeine may have stunted the growth of the average child, it seems to have given Jorge an impressive knack for creative expression. He'll tell you his first design project came as a teenager when he “re-designed” a portion of a job application to gain underage employment. It's that combination of work ethic paired with creative problem solving that is the driving force behind Lamora Design. Over the years, he has honed his skills considerably, creating award-winning work for a wide range of clients.

A graduate of the Ringling Graphic Design, Jorge now headquarters Lamora Design in Denver, Colorado with his highly-caffeinated family

Between Us: Loneliness Data Visualization

  • A striking color palette paired with haunting yet beautiful visuals creates an immediate emotional pull here. The use of space evoking the vastness of loneliness is particularly well handled and creates the perfect canvas giving the data room to breathe and resonate. Elements like the grainy texture and elongated shadows further reinforce the mood, adding a grittiness and depth to an otherwise flat surface. The use of typography here feels very intentional. Using the handwritten type for the personal narratives helps make the distinction between data and human experience. It feels deeply empathetic while reinforcing the human voices behind the numbers. There is an impressive sense of thoughtfulness and scope in this project. The work balances sensitivity and impact, depicting a difficult subject matter with real care. Ultimately, it’s a gripping aesthetic that’s hard to turn away from. One that successfully transforms data into something felt, which in turn makes us want to understand.

Jawmi x Warby Parker

  • The system here is exceptionally strong. As with any successful brand collab, it establishes itself as an adjacent brand to Warby Parker, one where both brands are clearly present but the branded collab feels distinct and creates something new and ownable. Consistency and craft stand out across every touchpoint. It’s clear that this strategy of layering is the through line that informs how the brand shows up in different contexts. Layers on layers on layers and they all work. The blue palette feels like the perfect backdrop to this Winter launch providing a foundation for all the blues in the fabrics and allowing those tans and browns to provide some really nice pops of warmth. Strong use of type showcasing an elegant restraint and a really nice technical approach with the graphic support elements. Overall, it’s a sophisticated execution with a contemporary vibe that feels both strategic and beautifully executed.

Yasuni Chocolate

  • The packaging is immediately distinctive, with a confident use of color, iconography, and layered elements that feel cohesive and intentional. There’s a strong sense of place embedded in the aesthetic that feels appropriate to the origin of the chocolate while still standing apart in a crowded category. The brand/flavor callout is also working particularly well to establish where consumers find the information they need to understand the differences across the line. Love the illustration style. This is a playful and very ownable approach that gives the brand a clear point of view and a system that feels primed to scale. The icons also feel like a purposeful extension of the brand visual language helping all the elements work in tandem. This is a thoughtfully considered brand system and really strong CPG approach that could easily sit naturally in an artisan market today.
